After my contract with VXi ended, I found myself navigating the uncertain waters of job hunting. I was asked to tag along with my training mates to this other call centre at SM Paranaque: iBex.
The iBex interview experience stands out as a defining moment. I was asked for my preferred salary during the interview process. Since the interviewer avoided my inquiry about how much their offer was, he instead pressed me to disclose My "preferred compensation package." To which he replied that he doesn't think I'm worth my asking price. This dismissive negotiation tactic left a bitter aftertaste to my palate. At that moment, I realized that if no one was going to hire me, I would hire myself. This marked the beginning of my journey to take control of my career.
Unfortunately for the poor guy, I have an "only child syndrome." Both figuratively and practically.
While I may not swim in wealth, I learned to navigate the seas of intellect with finesse. Rest assured, I'm not rich, but I'm certainly not deluded either. My pockets may not be deep, but my insights certainly are.
Launching Your Daily VA wasn't just about starting a virtual assistant career; it was about reclaiming my worth and autonomy. Despite the lowballing and demeaning treatment I faced in the interview, I refused to let it define me. Instead, I channelled that experience into fuel for my entrepreneurial aspirations.
The launch of Your Daily VA was a culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and self-belief. It was about more than just starting a freelancing business; it was about crafting a brand that reflected my values and vision. From creating a website to marketing strategies, every step was taken with purpose and passion.
Embracing an entrepreneurship mindset, empowered me to shape my destiny and pursue my passions. It wasn't always easy, but every obstacle served as a lesson in resilience and perseverance. Through dedication and determination, Your Daily VA grew from a mere idea to a budding sole proprietorship, proving that taking control of your career is not just a dream but a tangible reality.
As I reflect on my journey from the iBex interview experience to the launch of Your Daily VA, I'm reminded of the power of resilience and self-belief. My previous mentor in the call centre said: 'If there's something you don't like in your situation, change your direction.' This resonates deeply with me.
While some attempted to undermine the integrity of Your Daily VA, and may have momentarily caused turmoil and distress, they have also strengthened my resolve and determination. The attempt to steal what I have tirelessly built only reaffirms the value and significance of this venture.
In freelancing, I learned that Respect and Integrity are the cornerstones of success, and I still choose the path guided by these principles.
As for the real Your Daily VA, it remains steadfast and resilient, undeterred by adversity. It will continue to grow and thrive, fueled by passion and unwavering dedication.
